Configuring MacTCP

  1. Be sure you have installed your PPP package (we recommend FreePPP 2.5) before configuring MacTCP.
  2. Open the MacTCP control panel; it will look something like...

  3. Click on the PPP icon so that it is highlighted. Ignore the number in the "IP Address" box.
  4. Click on the "More" button. A dialog box will open looking like...

  5. Select "Server" in the "Obtain Address" box.
  6. Ignore the "Gateway address".
  7. Under "IP Address", choose class "C" from the pop up menu. (When you do this, the subnet mask should change to "255.255.255.0". If it does not, move the slider until the subnet mask is "255.255.255.0".)
  8. Here's the trickiest part. Fill in the "Domain Name Server Information" from the following table:
    Domain IP Address Default
    bee.net 63.74.90.21 x
    . 63.74.90.21
    . 63.74.90.23

(Note: these numbers are different from the ones pictured.)
  9. Click the "OK" button and then close the MacTCP control panel.
  10. You will need to restart your Macintosh before the configuration changes will take effect.
